During the ideation phase of the project we followed the process of brainstorming, organizing, and then ultimately choosing the proposed solution. As for our brainstorming, at least in our second session of the process, we still decided to do do a “crazy” idea version which didn’t explicitly give us our final solution but it definitely helped refine it. So when we were reorganizing the ideas we took the “demolish house” note and combined it with modular reconstruction and themed renovations. This helped shaped the idea for a service we are providing. The reorganization of the ideas provided great conversation on things such as alternate solutions and feasibility.
Ultimately we narrowed it down to two concepts and then multivoted and pitched our concerns and seen benefits for each one. We had each member play devil’s advocate for each idea so that we could make sure there was no glaring holes and the idea could be a viable and profitable solution to our problem statement. The biggest take away I had from the process was the deliberate thinking outside of the box and though it may not yield a single idea it, much like this entire process, provides context for great conversation.
