The process for choosing a problem statement proved to be extremely difficult for our group. The great thing was we all quickly agreed on the “need” as we independently converted on the need for strengthening financial well-being through the context of the home but it was through pretty different insights we all came to that point.
When we came together as a group to converge on one we decided we wanted to take elements from multiple insights and that caused us to go back and forth with the need and the insight. We finally came into agreement on the need. I would say in all the process with starting individual, getting feedback from non group members definitely helped shape our needs and helped me at least narrow in further on scope of the project. That has been a challenge all semester for our group is trying to pick an area to focus on while remaining cognizant of the original premise of the project.
